Debbie Miller grew up on a small farm near Rector, Arkansas, and began her journalism career in high school as a writer for her weekly community newspaper. She holds a bachelor’s degree in Journalism and a master’s degree in Mass Communication from Arkansas State University. She also earned a master’s in Leadership and Ethics from John Brown University in 2013.

 

Mrs. Miller worked for more than two decades as an editor and reporter for multiple daily newspapers in Arkansas. She also served as a public relations practitioner for NorthWest Arkansas Community College and the University of Arkansas School of Law. Before joining the faculty at JBU in 2019, she worked as an instructor at the University of Arkansas and as a director of events and fundraising for Ozark Guidance. Her work in newspapers and in public relations has earned recognition from various regional, state and national organizations. Her JBU students received national honors in 2020 for their work in public relations and for the student newspaper, The Threefold Advocate. Mrs. Miller serves as adviser for The Threefold Advocate.
