Neil Entwistle

Neil Entwistle joined the JBU faculty in 2025 as an Assistant Professor of Teacher Education, bringing with him two decades of hands-on classroom experience across multiple elementary grade levels. A JBU alumnus (B.S., Early Childhood Education with a TESOL emphasis, 2005), he went on to earn a Master's degree in Educational Leadership with an emphasis in School Administration from Northern Arizona University in 2010.

Neil's career has spanned a variety of classroom settings and contexts, including a season serving as a school principal in Rwanda. Growing up as a missionary kid in Kenya, has given him a global perspective to his work. Most recently, he served as an ESOL teacher before joining the JBU faculty, bringing a deep appreciation for language learners into his work with future teachers.

Neil's primary teaching interests lie in literacy education — helping future elementary teachers develop the skills and confidence to teach children to read well. He is passionate about helping his students grow in empathy and inclusion, believing that good teaching starts with truly knowing the children in front of you.

Neil and his family are active members of Siloam Springs Bible Church. Outside of work, he loves spending time with his wife and two daughters, and enjoys traveling, getting outdoors, and the occasional round of golf.
