John Brown University is accredited by the Higher Learning Commission of the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools (www.ncahlc.org, 312-263-0456). In addition, all JBU business programs listed below are accredited by the Accreditation Council for Business Schools & Programs (ACBSP).
ACBSP is an accrediting organization dedicated to improving the quality of business schools and programs around the world, and ultimately to improving the practice of business in every industry around the world. Member institutions adhere to the highest standards and focus on student learning outcomes, providing the kind of education that is relevant to the marketplace.
From the time a business school enters candidacy for ACBSP accreditation, the school’s programs, courses, and faculty begin a process of continuous improvement focused on teaching excellence and student learning outcomes. Business schools are required to demonstrate how specific standards, including strategic planning, leadership, stakeholder focus, and measurement of student learning, are being met. They are required to offer programs that include critical areas for business study and document their interdisciplinary approach to CPC (Common Professional Components), which is vitally important for business majors in the 21st century.
Reaching accredited status requires an ongoing effort to maintain high standards not only in regard to curricula and faculty, but in providing state-of-the-art equipment, software, learning resources, and services for students.
For more information about ACBSP, call (913) 339-9356 or visit their website at www.acbsp.org.
Achieving accreditation status certifies that the teaching and learning processes within the institution meet the rigorous educational standards established by ACBSP. The following Soderquist College of Business programs are accredited by ACBSP:
