Roberto Martinez-Santos

Roberto Martinez-Santos lives in central Arkansas and is pursuing his MBA with a focus in International Business. Roberto didn’t have an extensive business background before coming to JBU, but he is thriving nonetheless. We asked him a few questions to get to know him a little better; here’s what he said.

What do you like to spend your time doing?
I enjoy spending time with my wife, reading books about history, computer programming, and the Bible. I also like to work out at least four days a week.

What do you do for a living?
I work as a Continuous Improvement Engineer at LM Wind Power Arkansas, which is the world’s largest independent producer of wind turbine blades.

Why did you choose to pursue your MBA?
As an Industrial Engineer, I do not have an extensive background in the business world. Thus, studying for an MBA provides me with a deep knowledge on this matter and enriches my problem solving skills, especially in a managerial field.

What is the most interesting thing you’ve learned in the program so far?
I would have to say that the learning process on how to solve today's problems from a managerial point of view is the most interesting thing I’ve learned so far.

Do you have any long-term goals?
Yes, I do. I would like to start my own business as a consultant and continue my studies to achieve a PhD in Finance.
