Admissions Requirements & The Process

JBU's Online Undergraduate program is a fully online degree program designed for working students who need a more flexible program format. Having previous transferable college credit is no longer required to earn your degree online at JBU, but it's still accepted.

To be admitted with regular freshman status, an applicant must have a degree-bearing high school transcript with a GPA of 2.5 or above or GED and one of the following qualifying entrance exam scores:

  • Composite score of 20 or higher on the ACT
  • Score of 1020 or higher on the SAT (950 for test prior to March 1, 2016)
  • Score of 66 or higher on the CLT

If you haven't taken an entrance exam, please contact us about your options.

If you have prior college credit, please see the Transfer Admissions page for your unique admission requirements.

The JBU Admissions Process

Candidates who do not fulfill requirements may petition for admission consideration. Please contact us for further information.

Non-Degree Students

Students wishing to enroll at the university without pursuing a degree should indicate this on the application form. Applicants may be asked to submit additional academic information, such as transcripts and test scores (ACT or SAT). Credit earned as a non-degree student may count toward a degree only after students reapply and are accepted for admission under regular student status. The reapplication process will include all relevant transcripts and applicable test scores.

Transferring Credit

We understand that transferring credits can seem overwhelming. Our admissions staff can give you a free unofficial transcript review to help you determine how your credits will transfer and a plan for finishing your degree.

Non-Traditional Credit Options

In addition to taking elective courses, there are several ways students can earn credit toward a JBU Online Undergraduate bachelor's degree. This means you may be able to earn your degree sooner, reducing your overall cost of tuition. Some of JBU's non-traditional credit options include:

  • CLEP Exams
  • DSST Exams
  • Military Training
  • First Aid and CPR
  • Police Training
  • Professional training
