BMA Reunion Champagne Brunch Finale!

Greetings Brown Military Academy Cadets!

We hope this message finds you all well and staying safe during this COVID-19 pandemic. As we approach our BMA Reunion scheduled for October 24 in San Diego, your Reunion Committee has reviewed the current restaurant policies, restrictions and state mandates for the feasibility of holding our long-awaited event. Here is an overview of what we found:

  • Face masks are required at all times unless eating or drinking.
  • All tables must be 6 ft apart with no more than 10 at each table.
  • Once you arrive, you must immediately take a seat at a table and remain there for the duration of the luncheon.
  • You are not allowed to mingle between tables or get up to talk with others even if you have on a mask.
  • Due to COVID, increased food cost and the need to now have our lunch served by their staff rather than a buffet, require a price increase from our original contract. 

While all of these changes are understandable for our safety, it will severely restrict our ability to catch up with old friends and reminisce about our escapades of long ago.  As we view it, we have a couple choices:

A:  Cancel for now and hope we can schedule another event SOMETIME in the future.

B:  Cancel and donate our remaining funds to the Wounded Warrior Project, leaving cadets to come together with classmates in smaller groups as they wish, when they can.

Either way, we are eligible to receive our deposit back from the restaurant, under the circumstances.  Those who have paid already will have the choice of receiving their money back or “let it ride” for either the next event or include it in the donated funds, depending on what everyone decides.
