Dr. Joshua Bundy
Assistant Professor of Christian Ministry and Formation
Joshua Bundy has spent more than twenty years in pastoral ministry leading camps, retreats, international mission trips, and Christian pilgrimages as part of his work in discipleship and ministry formation. He has also trained hundreds of local church leaders through small group leadership development and elder and deacon preparation tracks.
Dr. Bundy served in local church ministry in Bentonville, Arkansas, from 2006–2020 and in the Philadelphia area from 2020–2026, serving in youth, young adult, and adult ministries as well as five years as a Lead Pastor. His ministry has focused especially on spiritual formation, discipleship, and leadership development within the local church. He loves delivering creative Bible teaching and preaching and a chief joy is watching others grow in their understanding and wonder of scripture.
His academic interests center on the world of the New Testament, especially Galilee and Judea during the lifetime of Jesus. His teaching interests include Christian spirituality, formation, ministry preparation, and the role of pilgrimage as a discipleship model for the local church.
Joshua and his wife Jenna (JBU ’10, ’19) were married in Rogers, Arkansas, in 2013 and have two sons. Outside the classroom, he enjoys the outdoors, hiking, camping, photography, reading, sports and athletics, tabletop games, and pickleball.
