Dr. Hillary Fischer
Assistant Professor of Biology
Dr. Hillary Fischer is a proud Nebraskan, an entomologist, a literature enthusiast, an animal lover, and a devoted admirer of the natural world. Her personal interests reflect a deep appreciation for both the sciences and the humanities, as well as a lifelong curiosity about creation.
She shares her life with two beloved cats, whose names are inspired by the Valar kings from Tolkien’s Middle-earth. Together, they have accompanied her on a journey across several places, including Belgium, New York, Michigan, and now Arkansas.
Outside of her professional interests, she enjoys hiking, biking, baking, and reading, among many other pursuits. She is enthusiastic about teaching students to appreciate the remarkable world God has created, even insects.
