Applying to JBU
As a Missionary Family

test

Why choose JBU?

JBU is an excellent place for missionary families:

  • JBU has students from more than 40 countries on campus
  • Almost 8% of students come from missionary families
  • JBU's Missionaries in Residence are here to support you
  • Our motto – Christ Over All – is literal, and you'll find our Christian mission integrated across our entire campus

How to apply

Students with U.S. citizenship, DACA status and permanent residents should apply as first-time freshmen or transfer students. Other students should apply as international students.

Either way, when you indicate that you come from a missionary family on your application, we'll connect you with unique resources that will help your family through the college decision process.

International and MK Student Orientation

International and MK Student Orientation will help you get to know other missionary kids, connect you with the international programs staff and get you settled into your dorm before the remaining new students arrive. International and MK Orientation also includes getting your JBU ID, getting your Social Security card (for non-US citizens), setting up work-study, intercultural adjustment and re-entry sessions, an introduction to the Missionaries in Residence and lots of fun activities.

Request advice from JBU's international and MK admissions counselor

We know admissions can be extra complicated for missionary families, and that's why our dedicated international and MK admissions counselor will help you navigate the process.
