Construction Management

Construction Management Club

The Construction Management Club is designed to encourage and aid all CM majors in the pursuit of future job opportunities and enhance their understanding of how the world of construction functions. We achieve this by enabling all JBU students to visit job sites, allowing them to interact with personnel from many construction companies through semi-annual job fairs, and providing events on campus to encourage students in the development of their skills.

ENACTUS

Enactus seeks to change lives around the world through education and service that equips people, builds communities and inspires hearts. JBU Enactus is students with ideas to meet needs, organizing into teams and implementing projects to raise the standard of living for others.

Engineering & Computer Science

Engineering Student Council
The Engineering Student Council is a club dedicated to supporting engineering, computer science, and cybersecurity majors at John Brown University. We believe in creating a safe space where students can develop their skills, explore their passions, and connect with like-minded individuals. Our club provides a variety of opportunities for students to engage with their peers and enhance their knowledge and skills.

FUSE 
FUSE works to provide a safe environment where students’ beliefs can be challenged in the exploration of the nature of science and religion and their mutual interactions. We endeavor to foster continued interest and discussion in the wider JBU community about topics related to faith and science with the express intent of pointing people towards the Judeo-Christian God. A goal of FUSE members is to be a part of providing the greater Christian community with individuals who can discuss the aforementioned topics with intelligence and humility.

IEEE
The JBU IEEE Student Branch consists of individuals eager and determined to provide professional development opportunities to engineering students at John Brown University. The Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) is the world’s largest association of technical professionals. As a student branch, it serves to encourage engineers to develop professional connections and skills through networking opportunities, technical competitions and training, and informational sessions. Through IEEE, engineering students have an opportunity to become the well-rounded professionals that employers desire.

Society of Women Engineers
Our mission is to inspire women to pursue the engineering field with excellence and become leaders in their field thus demonstrating the values of diversity, whether on a college campus or in industry. The nationally recognized organization of SWE helps connect students to other members who are also students, recruiters, and mentors in the region, nation, and even globe.

ASME
Facilitates network opportunities through hosting speakers on engineering topics and promoting scholarship opportunities. ASME hosts various workshops and events that further the skills and knowledge of students that attend and works to promote professional interaction with both the local and national community of the American Society of Mechanical Engineers.

Google Developer Student Club (GDSC)
The JBU GDSC chapter aims to help students bridge the gap between school and industry. Google Developer Student Clubs (GDSC) is a global, undergraduate and graduate student community all around the world. The JBU GDSC club invites Googlers and real-world software engineers from different companies to speak or lead seminars. Further, GDSC offers a peer to peer learning environment where students have fun together and grow. GDSC hosts new technologies workshops, tech talks, technical mock interviews, worldwide United Nations sustainable goals' solutions related events and whatever can help JBU students be most ready for their professional journeys. Our GDSC community is open to all majors!

Sigma Tau Delta
As part of this International English Honor Society, we seek to engage individuals in areas of literature, creative writing, and literacy. Events include Prison Literacy Project, Annual Faculty Reading, Banned Books Week, and Poetry Slam. Any student with 12 English credits and an overall 3.0 GPA or English 3.0 GPA is invited to apply for membership. This club is not limited to English majors or Honors students. We would love to have you!

Health Professionals

Christian Health Professionals of Tomorrow (CHPT)
Christian Health Professionals of Tomorrow aims to help members learn about different health professions, serve the community, and connect to other pre-health students. We host speakers who share their own experiences in the medical field, sponsor visits from professional schools, and host on-campus blood drives.

Student Nurse Club
Works to bring together all nursing majors, freshman to senior, for a time of sharing, listening, and learning what it means to be a student nurse at JBU, and act out of that to do good to one another and our surrounding community.

History Society
The purpose of the society is to promote the study and appreciation of history among JBU students, to facilitate discussions and conversations regarding faculty and student research, to promote community among JBU students and to promote campus-wide discussions regarding topics of historical importance.

Honors

Honors Executive Council
The Honors Executive Council exists to serve the Honors Community, promote growth, and cultivate connections both within the Honors Scholars Program and at John Brown University. HEC encourages students to pursue spiritual excellence in accordance with their calling. HEC does this through a variety of engaging social events, panels, and community outreach.

Psychology

Psi Chi

The purpose of the JBU Chapter of Psi Chi, the International Honor Society in Psychology, is to provide service, information and fellowship to the JBU community. Events hosted by Psi Chi are open to all interested JBU students of any major but Leadership and voting is limited to those who have been inducted into the Psi Chi International Honor Society. Membership is based on academic criteria. Throughout the year, the chapter hosts different events and activities such as movie nights, dinners, special presentations and speakers including the alumni of the JBU Psychology department. Participating in Psi Chi activities is a great and fun way to be involved in the department, meet students with similar interests and develop friendships.

Visual Arts

Visual Art Foundry
The Visual Art Foundry is the student-led art club for the artists of John Brown University. We aim to provide a place that encourages and inspires graphic designers, illustrators, photographers and cinematographers to think critically and creatively. Through get-togethers, trips, community outreach, competitions and other events, we seek innovative ways to connect art majors and other artists while enriching all students' education experiences. We are known for the Arties, JBU's annual red-carpet awards show to celebrate student excellence in the arts. The VAF is made up of four sub-clubs: Design Mill, InFocus, Sketchy and Student Filmmaker Society.

The Student Council on Family Relations (SCFR) is the student organization for Family and Human Services students. We work to put on events, volunteer opportunities, and other connections for FHS students that are designed to increase relationships and resources within our major.

JBU Ironfist is a competitive collegiate ultimate frisbee team that seeks to provide JBU students the opportunity to play competitive Ultimate Frisbee against other college level clubs and organizations, to provide an example of Christian athletes and to represent JBU to other colleges.

JBU Club Volleyball

JBU Club Volleyball
JBU Volleyball Club seeks to represent, witness, and foster community by participation volleyball competition. We provide a place where individuals from diverse backgrounds and skill levels may play volleyball together. We currently offer Co-ed recreational nights as well as a Men's and Women's competitive teams. Rec Nights are M/R 6:30-8:30pm.  More information may be found on our Facebook page.

Men's Rugby & Women's Rugby
At JBU, our Rugby Club pursues the head-heart-hand philosophy of John Brown University. We seek to combine the hard-hitting game of rugby with Christ-like attitudes and actions. Our teams desire not only to improve our skills in the sport of rugby, but also to be a positive Christian witness on and off the pitch. Our team finishes each practice and each match with prayer and a united singing of the "Doxology." This serves to remind all who look on the true reason for the club and to whom we give all glory and honor for the team, Jesus Christ.

Men's Baseball

Men's Baseball
In March of 2021, the brand-new club baseball team started its inaugural season at JBU. The Talons participate in the National Club Baseball Association (NCBA) DII League, and the spring schedule will consist of six to seven three-game series with other baseball club teams in the Mid-America South, including Kansas State University, Missouri S&T, University of Arkansas and University of Oklahoma. The fall season will include practices and a few scrimmage games.
Practice: Tuesday and Thursday at 8 p.m.

JBU Shooting Sports Club

JBU Shooting Sports Club
The JBU Shooting Sports Club was recently formed with the purpose of offering the opportunity to participate in recreational and competitive shooting sports. Members have the privilege of participating in shooting events offered through the Club on various days as planned by the Club. The JBU Shooting Sports club are members of USAYESS (Youth Education in Shooting Sports) and Association of College Unions International. Additionally some may compete as part of  the Scholastic Clay Target Program and the Scholastic Action Shooting Program.  Those interested in the JBU Shooting Sports Club can contact Chaz Miller for general information.

Golden Eagle Productions

Golden Eagle Productions (GEP) is a club composed of students from various majors who share a common interest in production work. Students in GEP can participate in several production projects including live JBU basketball coverage, webisodes, newscasts and more! No experience is required. GEP is a great way to get experience the different forms of media and production work. If you are working on a video project and need help, this club is also a way to find crew members.

Mu Kappa

MuKappa is a campus club working to create a collective space for college students with cross-cultural experiences, specifically MKs & TCKs. It is a home away from home for many, working closely with JBU's Missionaries in Residence to put on weekly gatherings and monthly events.

Chess Club
The JBU Chess Club is a group-oriented club that offers a welcoming and supportive environment for chess players of all skill levels. Whether you're a beginner or an experienced player, our club provides opportunities to learn, practice, and compete in a friendly and challenging atmosphere. We emphasize sportsmanship and teamwork, encouraging our members to support and learn from each other as they work toward their individual and collective goals.

The Defendant
The Defendant is a place on campus for students of all viewpoints to gather and discuss relevant/philosophical topics. Our meetings aim to foster understanding between contrasting perspectives rather than winning a debate. Occasionally, students turn these opinions into articles in our publication. Attendance is not mandatory, writing is not mandatory, and speaking up is not mandatoryalthough we wholeheartedly encourage all of these things! Tea and snacks will be provided. All are welcome; we’d love to hear your thoughts!

The Patriot's Club

As a member of The Patriot's Club, you will be a part of a very realistic mock legislative session that encourages open debate and emphasizes diplomacy. The Patriot's Club will also, from time to time, invite guest speakers to tackle the issues of the day from a biblical, historical, and constitutional perspective.
