Student Handbook
Communication Tools
There are many ways that events or announcements are publicized on campus. The master calendar at jbu.edu/calendar is managed by the Events Office, with various departments managing sub-calendars.
Other ways to hear about upcoming events and other important announcements include:
- Here & Now email newsletter is sent via email three times a week outlining the upcoming week’s events as well as other announcements. They are available each Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. To submit an announcement, email here&now@jbu.edu.
- Eaglenet Campus Announcements may be submitted by JBU offices, departments, and officially sanctioned student clubs. Ads are allowed for campus events and announcements pertaining to campus operations (i.e. housing application deadlines, etc.).
- JBU Instagram shares various events and information via Stories.
- Bulletin Boards – Any official JBU group or organization is welcome to create announcement posters about events but posters must be submitted to Student Development for approval. All postings must be limited to these public bulletin boards unless special permission is given through Student Development. Advertisements for non-JBU sponsored events are NOT to be posted in any area without express approval from the Student Development Office. Non-JBU-sponsored posters must adhere to the community standards and, once approved, can be posted on the bulletin board in front of the cafeteria and by the post office. Employment opportunities will not be posted but rather forwarded to the Career Development Center.
- The Threefold Advocate (student newspaper) publishes online content at advocate.jbu.edu.
- Student Government Association (SGA) is the student voice to the faculty and administration, provides a place for students to voice concerns, and pursues projects that will better the JBU experience for the student body. Email sga@jbu.edu.
