Student Handbook
Chapel Attendance
Chapel is essential to fulfilling John Brown University’s mission of providing Christ-centered higher education to our students. Therefore, attendance is mandatory.
- All full-time students (12 hours or more) and residential (on-campus) students must attend at least 21 chapels per semester.
- At least 15 must be weekday “regular” chapels (generally Tuesdays and Thursdays). The remaining six (6) requirements may be any combination of regular chapels and/or services that are designated as “additional” chapel events, such as The Gathering (Sunday night student-led chapel) and other forums approved by the Office of Christian Formation.
- Part-time students (11 or fewer hours) do not have a chapel requirement, except they are required to make up any chapel requirements that they were short the prior semester.
Students are responsible for monitoring their attendance record via the Chapel Attendance Tool on Eaglenet. [Also see Unmet Chapel Requirements.]
The full policy can be viewed on Eaglenet. More information on chapel.
