Golden Eagles Finish Strong at Little Rock


LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (September 7, 2012) - Tekste Gebreslasse finished in 25th place while Melissa Roth paced the women in 27th place at the 2012 University of Arkansas at Little Rock Invitational today.

While no team scores were kept, Gebreslasse finished at the top among JBU runners while Marcos Gutierrez finished just two places behind in 27th place.

Gebreslasse posted a time of 16:36.56 in the 5k race while Gutierrez handed in a 16:38.94 performance.

Kenny Crane finished in the third slot for John Brown, crossing the finish line at the 17:33.54 mark.

Roth completed the women’s 5k race with the best Golden Eagle time at 20:48.48, finishing ahead of Kari Miller’s 21:53.75 mark, good enough for 33rd place.

Both teams will take a week hiatus until it returns to the course on Saturday (Sept. 15), travelling to Joplin, Mo. to participate in the Missouri Southern Stampede.
