JBU to Host the C.S. Lewis and the Inklings Society Conference

SILOAM SPRINGS, Ark. (March 15, 2016) – John Brown University will host the 19th C.S. Lewis and the Inklings Society (CSLIS) conference on March 31-April 2. The conference’s theme, Is Man a Myth?, will examine not just the plausibility of “sub-created” worlds and their mythical inhabitants, but also the ontology of humanity.

This year, the conference features two keynote speakers, Devin Brown, a Lilly Scholar and professor of English at Asbury University, and Charlie W. Starr, who teaches English and film at Kentucky Christian University. Special guest and Tolkien scholar, Jason Fisher, will moderate conference workshops.

The conference’s keynote addresses by Starr and Brown are free and open to the public. However, conference registration - $100 for faculty and guests and $75 for students or retirees - will enable participants to attend additional sessions of scholarly papers and student presentations, a formal banquet with the keynote speakers, two lunches and all other conference events.
