Golden Eagles Fall in Hard-Fought Contest Against No. 3 Lubbock Christian, 72-42

SILOAM SPRINGS, Ark. (February 16, 2013) - Lubbock Christian rode four double-digit scorers to a 72-42 victory on Saturday afternoon at Bill George Arena.

The Golden Eagles fall to 10-16 (5-9 SAC) on the season while LCU continues its strong play, moving to 24-3 (11-3) in the 2012-13 campaign.

Despite boasting 10 players that found the scoresheet, no Golden Eagles was able to find double digits. Junior guard Sierra Shipley led John Brown with eight points and seven rebounds while sophomore guard Lauren Rogers chipped in with seven points.

JBU couldn't get anything going offensively against the Lady Chaps, shooting just 24.1 percent from the field and 22.7 percent from beyond the arc. Five different Golden Eagles were able to drain a shot from the three-point line. The Lady Chaps shot 40.7 percent from the field and an even more impresive 43.8 percent from the three-point line. The Golden Eagles converted nine of 11 free throw attempts.

John Brown committed 20 turnovers in the loss, and LCU converted the miscues into 19 points off of turnovers.

Courtney Wilson led the charge for Lubbock Christian, notching 13 points in the winning effort.

The Golden Eagles return to action on Thursday, Feb. 21, when they travel to Mid-America Christian (13-12, 4-10 SAC) for a 6:00 p.m. tip-off.
