Greenleaf, Wright Lead Golden Eagles to Seventh Place in OKC

OKLAHOMA CITY (April 8, 2013) - Sam Greenleaf and Tommy Wright both carded a first-day 78 (+6) before the weather halted day two of the tournament, landing the Golden Eagles to a seventh place finish at the Southwestern Christian Spring Tournament on April 8.

Greenleaf and Wright finished tied for 20th overall in the 44-golfer tournament while Nathan Sudheimer followed two strokes behind his teammates, finishing with an 80. Connor Reed landed in a tie for 35th, finishing with an 83. Max Gordon completed the JBU team score with an 89.

The Golden Eagles finished one stroke behind sixth place Mid-America Christian (Okla.) and 21 strokes behind Bellevue (Neb.), as the Bruins took the eight-team tournament with a one-day team round of 298. John Brown finished at 319.

The tournament served as the final tune-up before the Golden Eagles head to Ardmore, Okla. next Monday, April 22, for the two-day Sooner Athletic Conference Tournament, hosted by Oklahoma City University at the Dornick Hills Golf and Country Club.
