Holt named SAC Defensive Player of the Week

OKLAHOMA CITY, Okla. -- Junior Adam Holt combined for five saves and a pair of shutouts last week, prompting the Sooner Athletic to name him Defensive Player of the Week, conference offices announced on Monday (Oct. 10) afternoon.

Guiding the No. 15 Golden Eagles (9-1-1) to a pair of shutout wins, Holt earned his second SAC weekly honor of the season and fourth of his career.

With a 2-0 win and 7-0 win over Oklahoma City and St. Gregory's (Okla.), respectively, Holt increased his shutout total to seven on the season, easily leading all SAC keepers, but also tying him for most clean sheets in the nation.

Holt also lowered his goals-against average to a mere 0.53, again good enough to lead all conference goalies, placing him ninth nationwide.

Holt has now pitched a shutout in four of the last five matches of the season and has allowed just one goal over the last 450 minutes of play. Over the last seven matches, his goals-against average is just 0.29.

The Golden Eagles return to action on Saturday (Oct. 15) at Alumni Field, hosting Science & Arts (Okla.) at 4 p.m.
