JBU Celebrates Homecoming Weekend 2016

SILOAM SPRINGS, ARK. (Sept. 28, 2016) – John Brown University will unveil the Angel of Vision statue that honors Sam and Helen Walton for the Walton International Scholarship program during Homecoming Oct. 7-8 on JBU’s main campus. The weekend welcomes hundreds of alumni, students and friends and begins with registration on Friday, Oct. 7 at 9 a.m. in the Walker Student Center. Highlights of the schedule of events are as follows:

Friday, Oct. 7

  • Alumni chapel at 10 a.m. in the Cathedral of the Ozarks, featuring alumni speakers Marvin Spees, Holly Beitel and Mike Kairis.
  • Nursing Program Inaugural White Coat Ceremony at 2 p.m. in the Berry Performing Arts Center.
  • Alumni basketball game at 7:30 p.m. in the Bill George Arena.
  • Theatre production of “Parfumerie” at 7:30 p.m. in the Berry Performing Arts Center. Tickets are available at jbu.edu/tickets or by phone at (479) 524-7382

Saturday, Oct. 8

  • Music majors and Cathedral Choir reunion brunch at 9 a.m. in Simmons Great Hall B.
  • Unveiling of Angel of Vision statue at 10:30 a.m. on the Central Sidewalk Promenade near the Walton Lifetime Health Complex.
  • Theatre production of “Parfumerie” at 1 p.m. in the Berry Performing Arts Center. Tickets are available at jbu.edu/tickets or by phone at (479) 524-7382.
  • Student and young alumni showcase at 7 p.m. in the Cathedral of the Ozarks.
