JBU Celebrates Homecoming Weekend 2017

SILOAM SPRINGS, Arkansas (Oct. 3, 2017) – John Brown University welcomes the Sound Generation, one of JBU’s most well-known music groups that began in the fall 1967, to perform during Homecoming Oct. 6-7 on JBU’s main campus. During the years of its existence, the group toured the nation bringing the newest generation of sound to the forefront in America, performed with many celebrities and sang for President Nixon’s Prayer Breakfast in Washington, D.C. JBU Homecoming weekend welcomes hundreds of alumni, students and friends and begins with registration on Friday, Oct. 6 at 9 a.m. in the Walker Student Center. Highlights of the schedule of events are as follows:

Friday, Oct. 6

  • Alumni chapel at 10 a.m. in the Cathedral of the Ozarks, featuring alumni speaker Gerson Arteaga
  • Alumni basketball game at 7:30 p.m. in the Bill George Arena.
  • Theatre production of “Pygmalion” at 7:30 p.m. in the Berry Performing Arts Center. Tickets are available at jbu.edu/tickets or by phone at (479) 524-7382
  • JBU Glow Run, a 5K race that benefits the JBU Scholarship Fund, at 8:30 p.m. by JBU’s 100 Steps.

Saturday, Oct. 7

  • Alumni Breakfast at 8:30 a.m. in Simmons Great Hall B.
  • Theatre production of “Pygmalion” at 1 p.m. in the Berry Performing Arts Center. Tickets are available at jbu.edu/tickets or by phone at (479) 524-7382.
  • Student and young alumni showcase featuring the Sound Generation at 7 p.m. in the Cathedral of the Ozarks.
