JBU Hosts 75th Annual Christmas Candlelight Service

SILOAM SPRINGS, Arkansas (Dec. 1, 2017) – John Brown University will ring in the Christmas season with the 75th annual Candlelight Services on Thursday, Dec. 7, Friday, Dec. 8 and Saturday, Dec. 9 in the Cathedral of the Ozarks at 7 p.m. Celebrate the holiday season with classical Christmas music, traditional melodies and inspirational readings at JBU.

The service will also feature JBU’s Chamber Orchestra which will perform “Christmas Eve/Sarajevo 12/24,” a piece made famous by Trans-Siberian Orchestra. The Cathedral Choir will sing the world premiere of a setting of John 1 in Swahili titled “Hapo Mwanzo” written and composed by JBU faculty member Dr. Jeremy Allen.

All performances are free and open to the public. Doors will open for general seating at 6:30 p.m. Early arrival is encouraged as seating is on a first-come, first-serve basis. To preserve the worshipful atmosphere of the Candlelight Services, guests are respectfully requested to consider not bringing young children and to refrain from flash photography.
