JBU Reports Continued Growth in Enrollment
SILOAM SPRINGS, Ark. (November 7, 2013) - John Brown University has announced the official enrollment for the 2013-2014 academic year. The increase of 149 students makes the enrollment at JBU the highest ever at 2589. The students attending JBU come from 42 states and 44 countries.
JBU takes its consensus on October 1 to account for the graduate and degree completion cohorts that begin classes after the 11th day of undergraduate classes, the traditional census date.
The total enrollment number, which includes traditional undergraduates, graduate students, degree completion students and high school concurrent students, represents a six percent increase over last year’s enrollment. The overall retention rate for the Fall 2012 cohort was more than 82 percent.
Traditional Undergraduates: 1353
Degree Completion: 448
Graduate School: 516
Concurrent High School Students: 272
Total Enrollment: 2589
The programs that saw the biggest percentage increase in enrollment were the graduate programs with over 18 percent and the concurrent high school program with a nearly 21 percent increase.
In the traditional undergraduate program, engineering remains as JBU’s most popular major (143). The other top majors include graphic and web design (105), family and human services (85), early childhood education (75) and business administration (68).
