JBU Welcomes Over 400 New Students
SILOAM SPRINGS, ARK. (Aug. 23, 2016) –John Brown University welcomes 418 new students who begin classes at JBU’s main campus Wednesday, Aug. 24. Nursing and engineering are the most popular majors for this class with 38 and 43 students respectively.
“It’s always exciting to welcome a new class to JBU — students who enthusiastically embrace JBU’s philosophy to provide an education that reinforces our strong core academics with hands on experience,” Don Crandall, vice president for enrollment management, said. “JBU’s faculty and staff are centered on providing a faith-based learning experience that equips our graduates to succeed in both their professional and personal lives.”
The class of 2020, made up of 61 percent women and 39 percent men, represents 17 countries and 25 states, most commonly from Arkansas, Texas, Oklahoma, Missouri and Kansas. Enrolling students from countries like Kenya, Honduras, Guatemala, Germany, United Kingdom and many more, JBU awarded the class of 2020 over $14 million in scholarships.
“JBU has a math education program that leads me directly into my career goals. Because of this, I knew JBU was where I needed to be,” Savannah Carter, freshman math education major, said. “Already, I’ve met so many wonderful people, and I can’t wait to experience all that JBU has to offer.”
