JBU’s Business College Hosts Panel on Community Transformation
SILOAM SPRINGS, ARK. (July 20, 2016) –John Brown University’s Soderquist College of Business will host a panel featuring Little Rock area professionals at the Capital Hotel in Little Rock on July 21 at 6:00 p.m. The event is open to the public.
Panelists include Joseph Wood, Arkansas deputy secretary of state, Randy Zook, president and CEO of the Arkansas State Chamber of Commerce /Associated Industries of Arkansas, Gina Radke, CEO of Galley Support Innovations, Darryl Swinton, housing director for Better Community Development, and Regan Gruber Moffitt, associate vice president of the Winthrop Rockefeller Foundation.
The panel discussion is part of a three-day seminar for JBU’s Little Rock graduate students titled “Community Transformation Through Public-Private Collaboration.” JBU graduate students will discuss topics on restorative justice, fair commerce and innovation.
“There is a critical need in our world today for people to come together in meaningful partnerships to create positive change and build communities,” said Joe Walenciak, dean of the Soderquist College of Business and seminar facilitator. “With the help of many of our friends in the Little Rock area, our hope is that we not only build a conceptual understanding of change, but also expose JBU graduate students to real people with practical experience who are working for a better world today.”
