John Brown University Hosts Official Steinway Artist

SILOAM SPRINGS, ARK. (Sept. 8, 2015) –The John Brown University music and theatre department presents official Steinway artist Rosario Andino in a recital on Sunday, Sept. 13 in the Berry Performing Arts Center. Her recital program includes works by Haydn, Bach, Beethoven and Chopin.

Andino was born in Santa Clara, Cuba, where she began her musical studies at age four. She graduated with the highest honors from the Fischermann Conservatory in Havana and later from the Chatham Square Music School in New York City.

Andino has won coveted awards like the Music Critics Circle Prize in Cuba and the Pittsburgh Society of Musical Arts Prize in the USA and tours Europe, Mexico and the USA annually.

Andino’s concerto and solo repertoires include numerous piano and orchestral masterpieces from the baroque, classical, romantic and modern eras as well as rarities such as works by Arensky and lesser known Cuban, South American and Spanish composers.
