LIONS SHUTOUT WOMEN'S TENNIS ON SENIOR DAY

SILOAM SPRINGS, Ark. -- The John Brown University women's tennis team suffered a 9-0 setback on Monday (April 10) when Arkansas-Ft. Smith spoiled senior day at the JBU Tennis Courts.

The Golden Eagles honored the lone senior on the squad, Taylor Russell, a four-year member of the team and this year's No. 1 singles participant.

Clare Holden put up the toughest fight at No. 4 singles, taking Shaun Williams to a 6-0, 6-3 score. Caitlin King also forced Jaycie Wright to a 6-1, 6-3 battle at the No. 6 slot.

John Brown will now prepare for the RRAC/SAC Unaffiliated Group Regional Tournament, where the Golden Eagles have been selected as the No. 3 seed and will take on Texas A&M-Texarkana in the quarterfinals on April 28 in Helotes, Texas.
