Men's Tennis Falls 7-2 to Southwestern Christian

BETHANY, Okla. -- Freshman Nathan Kuykendall continued his torrid streak, but the John Brown men's tennis team (2-9) suffered a 7-2 setback to Southwestern Christian (Okla.) on Thursday (April 7).

Kuykendall upped his singles record to 5-4 with a 6-4, 6-2, win over Brady Matthews at No. 4. Kuykendall continued his strong play in double action with partner, freshman Fernando Hurley. The tandem took out Carlos Rodriguez and Matthews by a quick 8-2 score at the second slot.

The Golden Eagles were unable to secure points in any of the other matchups. However, freshman Matthew Minner and senior Luke Reimer posted a solid 8-4 score at No. 3 against SCU's Stephen Baker and Isaiah Island.

JBU will finish out the regular season on Saturday (April 16) when it welcomes Southwestern Christian to the JBU Tennis Courts at 11 a.m.
