Men’s Golf Adds Trevor Barton

SILOAM SPRINGS, Ark. (February 27, 2013) - Rogers native Trevor Barton has signed a letter of intent to join the men’s golf squad at John Brown University next season, announced head coach Brian Thomas.

“Trevor is very accomplished in the state of Arkansas,” added Thomas of Barton’s accomplishments. “We’re very excited to welcome him to the Golden Eagle family. As we continue to build the men’s golf program here at JBU, I know Trevor will have an immediate impact. We’re very excited to have him.”

Barton’s storied career as a Mountie included a third place finish at the 2012 7A State Championships, winning All-Conference and All-State honors along the way. Also during the season under the guidance of head coach Marcus Alexander, Barton has medaled in seven of Rogers’ 11 matches and was awarded the Arkansas Democrat-Gazette’s Prep Golfer of the Year for his efforts.

Barton, the son of Donny and Terrie, plans to major in Business Administration during his time in Siloam Springs.
