Parrish Nets 15 Points in JBU's 73-45 Loss to No. 8 Oklahoma City

SILOAM SPRINGS, Ark. (January 3, 2013) - Senior guard Anna Parrish dropped 15 points and nabbed three rebounds, but the Golden Eagles were unable to stop Oklahoma City's inside game as the No. 8 Stars left Bill George Arena with a 73-45 victory on Thursday night.

John Brown was able to keep the contest close throughout the beginning of the game, but a quick 18-4 OCU run opened a daunting 23-6 advantage. Sporting the 17-point lead, Oklahoma City continued to pound the ball inside, feeding Katie Hall down low. Hall finished the half with 10 of her game-high 21 points.

Oklahoma City boasted a 37-21 leading into the half.

The second half featured much of the same as the explosive OCU offense pushed the ball down the court and, as a result, boasted a 29-point advantage at the 5:27 mark of the second frame.

Freshman forward Brooke Barker drained four of her eight points down the stretch, but the Golden Eagles were unable to keep pace with OCU, falling by the final 28-point margin.

Sophomore guard Lauren Rogers chipped in with seven points on the evening while sophomore forward Abbie Warren posted a team-high five rebounds in the loss.

John Brown now falls to 5-8 on the season, including an 0-1 mark in Sooner Athletic Conference play. The Stars boost its record to 9-2 and 1-0 in the conference.

The Golden Eagles return to the court on Tuesday, Jan. 8 when it travels to face Science & Arts (Okla.) in Chickasha. The contest is slated for a 6:00 p.m. tip-off.
