Robinson's game-winner lands her Player of the Week honors

OKLAHOMA CITY, Okla. -- Sophomore Aspen Robinson converted a penalty kick late in the match on Saturday (Sept. 17) and with it, delivered a victory to the John Brown University women's soccer team and also nabbed the weekly Sooner Athletic Conference Offensive Player of the Week honors, the conference offices announced Monday (Sept. 19) afternoon.

The accolades are the second of Robinson's career. She also won it on Oct. 19, 2015.

Robinson's penalty kick in the 78th minute proved to be the game-winner over NCAA II Ouachita Baptist (Ark.), as freshman Katherine Haar tallied the insurance strike with 41 seconds left.

Robinson now has five goals and 11 points on the season, first and third on the team, respectively, and has two-game winners. She is now tied for fourth in the Sooner Athletic in points and is third in total goals.

The Golden Eagles (5-1-1) return to action on Friday (Sept. 23) against Bethel (Tenn.) at 5 p.m. at Alumni Field.
