Shipley, Parish Earn Spot on All-Conference List

OKLAHOMA CITY (February 26, 2013) - After winning three of its last four games to end the 2012-13 regular season slate to earn the No. 4 seed in the Sooner Athletic Conference tournament, senior guard Anna Parish and junior guard Sierra Shipley found themselves nominated to the All-Conference awards listings.

Shipley, a native of Fayetteville, Ark., was named to the third team, following up her Honorable Mention accolade last season. She was the only Golden Eagle to average in double-digit points this season, landing 11.7 points per night. In 2012-13, she scored a career-high 328 points and has racked up 57 assists, good enough for second on the squad. Shipley scored a season-high 20 points in a loss to St. Gregory's on Jan. 10 and notched a season-high five assists in a victory over Science and Arts on Jan. 31. She ranks No. 37 in the nation in three-point field goal percentage (35.6).

Parish, a Yantis, Texas native, returns to the All-Conference listings for the second time in her career. For her efforts in the 2010-11 season, Parish was named to the second team before earning second team All-American honors. This season Parish lands on the Honorable Mention squad as she led the nation in free throw percentage (.933) and dished out a team-high 61 assists this season. During her career she has amassed over 300 assists and 800 points. Parish, averaging 7.6 points per game this season, was also featured among the Academic All-Conference nominations for her efforts in the classroom.

Additionally, Parish was named the recipient of the Sportsmanship Award, as voted on by SAC coaches.
