Tropical storm formerly known as Hurricane Harvey delays soccer series

SILOAM SPRINGS, Ark. -- The worst tropical storm in the nation's history has now impacted the John Brown University men's and women's soccer programs, as the double-header series between the Golden Eagles and Cumberland (Tenn.) has been postponed to Monday (Sept. 4) morning in Lebanon, Tenn.

Severe weather and tremendous rainfall is scheduled for central Tennessee on Thursday, forcing officials to move the back-to-back matches from tomorrow (Aug. 31) to Labor Day at Cumberland's Kirk Field at Lindsey Donnell Stadium.

The Phoenix women's soccer team, ranked No. 16 in the nation, will face No. 18 JBU on Monday at 10 a.m. before the No. 19 Golden Eagle men's soccer team faces Cumberland shortly after at noon.

JBU's Saturday (Sept. 2) matches at Bethel (Tenn.) in McKenzie are set to occur as scheduled.
