Violinist, Guitarist Duo to Perform

SILOAM SPRINGS, Ark. (September 3, 2014) - World-renowned Bulgarian/Viennese violinist Bojidara Kouzmanova and Spanish classical and flamenco guitar virtuoso Virginia Luque, will perform at John Brown University on Sunday, Sept. 21, 2014 at 3:00 p.m. in the Berry Performing Arts Center. The rarely heard combination of instruments has been drawing raves from audiences and critics wherever they perform.

Kouzmanova, a native Bulgarian, has appeared as a soloist with numerous orchestras and performed in recitals throughout Europe, Asia, Australia and South America. The winner of many international violin competitions, Kouzmanova regularly teaches different master classes all over Europe, North Africa, the United States, Asia and Australia.

Guitarist Luque plays classical and flamenco music in a Spanish romantic style, combining technical virtuosity with beautiful tone and musicianship. She has recorded with the London Symphony Orchestra and been awarded first prize at several international competitions. She received her master's degree in Spain and then came to America where she also received a master's degree from the Juilliard School in New York City. After hearing her play, legendary Spanish guitarist Andres Segovia invited Luque to study privately with him.
