Volleyball Hits Road, Faces Ozarks (Mo.)

SILOAM SPRINGS, Ark. (August 26, 2013) -- After season-opening sweeps of Benedictine (Kan.) and Lyon (Ark.), the Golden Eagles (2-0) will travel to Point Lookout, Mo., for an evening matchup with Ozarks (Mo.) on Monday at 7:00 p.m.

The Bobcats (3-1) competed in the Oklahoma Baptist volleyball tournament over the past weekend, posting victories over Texas Wesleyan, Texas College and St. Thomas (Texas) before dropping its final match to Wiley (Texas).

The Bobcats are led by senior outside hitter Hannah Meadows, who recorded 28 kills in two matches over the weekend. Defensiely, Ozarks is paced by senior libero Hayley Blair who notched 55 digs in two match at the OBU tournament.

The Golden Eagles will look to continue its undefeated record as they are led by sophomore outside hitter Audrey Dearien. Dearien contributed 20 kills over a pair of matches while senior hitter Erin McIlroy chipped in with 14 and sophomore hitter Melissa Bakke added 13.

Defensively, John Brown received 18 digs from senior Stacie Williamson and another 16 from Dearien.

Freshman setter Shayna Daniels had a strong debut in her first games, landing 27 assists, equaled by her senior counterpart, Kailey Bain.

John Brown posted two victories over the Bobcats last season, sweeping Ozarks twice.
