Golden Eagles defeat the Patriots

JBU men’s basketball team remained perfect at 4-0 after defeating the Patriots of Baptist Bible College (Mo.) 94-38 on Tuesday night.

Senior Andy Garcia was 9-of-10 for the night and led JBU with 18 points and 11 rebounds. Junior Coleson Rakestraw, freshman Jared Johnson, and freshman Max Hopfgartner followed Garcia with 12, 11, and 10 total points. Junior EJ McWoods picked up four assists.

For Baptist Bible, Dione Greer led the Patriots with 16 points, two assists and three rebounds.

JBU held a 49-28 halftime lead. During the second half, JBU scored 45 points and held BBC to only 10 points resulting in the 56-point win.

For the game, JBU shot 70% (40-57) from the floor, while giving up only 26% (14-53) to BBC.

The Golden Eagles will face the Mustangs of Central Baptist (Ark.) this Saturday, Nov. 5 at home. Tipoff is at 3 p.m.
