JBU Hosts Pianists to Perform for Students and Community

Siloam Springs, Ark (March 27, 2001) - The John Brown University Music Department is proud to host Rosilee Walker and Althea Lindt for an evening of classical piano on Tuesday, April 2 at 7:00 p.m. in the Jones Recital Hall on the campus of John Brown University. They will be the guest clinicians for a master class of JBU piano students at 4:00 PM. The performance and master class are free to the public.

Selections include Sonata in D Major for two pianos, by W. A. Mozart; Rhapsody in B Minor by Johannes Brahms; Scherzo in Bb Minor by Frederic Chopin as well as Variations on a Theme by Paganini by Witold Lutoslawski.

Rosilee Walker is the Artist-in Residence and Director of Keyboard Activities at Westark College in Fort Smith, Arkansas. As a solo artist, Walker performs extensively throughout Arkansas as a member of the Arts on Tour Program, Sponsored by the Arkansas Arts Council. She has appeared as guest recitalist at the Arkansas Governor's Mansion, guest pianist at the White House and performs throughout the United States at major colleges and universities and performing arts centers.

Althea Lindt is the Administrator of the School of Music and staff pianist at Emmanuel Baptist Church in Overland Park, Kansas. Lindt is a dedicated teacher and prepares her students for various competitions and college auditions. Lindt's principle teachers include internationally known pianist Richard Cadd and nationally known pianist Rosilee Walker, with whom she will be performing at John Brown University.
