Siloam Springs, Ark. (November 30, 2010) - The Lady Golden Eagles return to SAC action this week with Oklahoma Christian coming into Bill George Arena for a Thursday night tilt scheduled for 6 p.m. The team then travels to Alva, Okla. to take on the Lady Rangers of Northwestern Oklahoma State on Saturday at 6 p.m.

ABOUT THE LADY GOLDEN EAGLES: JBU enters this week’s contests at 6-2 overall and 1-0 in the Sooner Athletic Conference after picking up a 68-57 come from behind victory against Rogers State (Okla.) in conference action before the Thanksgiving break.

Senior Ashley Taylor, a 5-10 forward from Bergman, Ark., leads JBU in scoring with 17.6 ppg, followed by senior Katie Mangels, a 5-9 guard from Independence, Mo., with 11.0 ppg. Taylor also leads the team in rebounds with 8.6 rpg and is followed by 6-2 junior post Chelsea Garrison of Springdale, Ark. with 5.6 rpg. As a team, JBU is averaging 63.6 ppg while holding their opponents to 56.3 ppg. The team also ranks 11th nationally in three point field goal percentage with 39.3 percent and 13th in total three point field goals made with 59.

Last season, JBU went 0-2 against both Oklahoma Christian and Northwestern Oklahoma State.

ABOUT THE OC LADY EAGLES: OC is coming off a 67-53 win over Northwestern Okla. State last week, which moves them to 5-1 overall and 1-0 in SAC action. Their one loss of the year was a 53-72 drubbing by Langston (Okla.) in early November. Katy Clift, a 5-6 junior guard from Kiowa, Okla., leads the team with 13.2 ppg, and she’s followed by Ayanna Jackson, a 5-11 junior guard from Hugo, Okla., with 12.2 ppg. Krista Stevens, a 5-6 sophomore guard from Oklahoma City, is the team’s leading rebounder with 7.0 rpg. As a team, OC is averaging 72.2 ppg while holding their opponents to 58.0 ppg.

ABOUT THE NWOSU LADY RANGERS: The Lady Rangers stand at 4-2 overall and 0-1 in the SAC after losing to Oklahoma Christian before the Thanksgiving break. Two players average double digits for the Lady Rangers led by Audrey Richmond, a 6-1 sophomore center from Cherokee, Okla., with 11.3 ppg. Claudia Vazquez, a 6-1 senior forward from Tonkawa, Okla., also averages double figure scoring with 10.3 ppg, and she’s also the team’s leading rebounder with 8.33 rpg. As a team, the Lady Rangers average 66.7 ppg while allowing 66.2 ppg so for this season.
