Waxahachie, Texas (November 2, 2010) - The JBU women’s basketball team defeated Southwestern Assemblies of God (Texas) 50-40 on Tuesday night to open their 2010-2011 season with a 1-0 record.

JBU led by 19 points in the second half but hit a drought and went scoreless for 11 minutes, which allowed SAGU to cut the deficit to 43-36. This ignited a 7-0 JBU run that pushed the Eagles ahead 50-36 with 2:51 left to play. SAGU held JBU scoreless the rest of the way and closed out the game with a 4-0 run, but it was too little to late as JBU took the 10 point win.
