Men falter against Blazers

Siloam Springs, Ark. (September 11, 2010) - JBU’s men’s soccer team came up empty on Saturday afternoon falling 2-0 to Belhaven (Miss.). The loss drops JBU to 2-2 and BU moves to 6-0.

Belhaven scored both goals in the first period. Will Monsour scored their first in the 36th minute when he found an opening from about 20 yards out and struck a solo shot for a one goal lead. Four minutes later, the Blazers’ Chris Cave dribbled up the left side and blasted a shot from 30 yards out that managed to curve in for the goal. It stood at 2-0 going into the break.

JBU tried to fight back, but couldn’t convert on several opportunities in the second half.

The Golden Eagles were outshot 19-9 with 9-6 shots on goal advantage in favor of the Blazers.

Up next, JBU travels to Ouachita Baptist on Saturday, September 18 for a 3 p.m. bout.
