Siloam Springs, Ark. (January 25, 2010) - The Lady Golden Eagles return to SAC action this week beginning with Wayland Baptist (Texas) and Lubbock Christian (Texas) both on the road. They’ll take on WBU in Plainview on Thursday at 6 p.m. and head to Lubbock for a 1 p.m. Saturday bout.

ABOUT THE LADY GOLDEN EAGLES: JBU enters this week after suffering two tough losses at home to Southern Nazarene and Science & Arts of Okla.

Junior forward, 5-10 Ashley Taylor of Bergman, Ark., continues to lead the team in scoring with 13.4 points per game. Chelsea Garrison, a 6-2 post from Springdale, Ark., leads the team with 7.5 rebounds per game.

Last season, JBU lost both home and away games against WBU and LCU.

The Lady Golden Eagles are fighting to stay in the hunt for the Sooner Athletic Conference Tournament but are currently on the outside sitting at the 10th spot in the standings.

ABOUT THE WBU FLYING QUEENS: The Flying Queens are 11-8 and 6-6 in the SAC after going 1-1 last week against Northwestern Okla. State and Oklahoma Christian. They defeated NWOSU 71-40 but fell to OC 70-59.

Senior Shamon Doss, a 5-11 post player from Silsbee, Texas, leads four WBU players that average double digits with 11.3 points per game. Doss also leads in the rebound column with 8.5 per game. WBU was knocked out of the NAIA’s Top 25 a week ago but was previously ranked in the previous four polls. The Flying Queens are currently seventh in the SAC after being picked to finish fifth.

ABOUT THE LCU LADY CHAPS: The Lady Chaps jumped in the Top 25 last week and looked to stay there after knocking off Oklahoma Christian 76-61 and Northwestern Okla. State 84-39.

As a team, LCU is putting up 76.1 points per game while holding opponents to 61 points per game. Brittany Hampton, a 5-7 sophomore guard from Canyon, Texas averages 11.4 points per game to lead the team. Brandi Raindl, a 5-10 senior forward from Tahoka, Texas averages 4.9 rebounds to lead in that column.
