Chickasha, Okla. (October 24, 2009) - Both JBU soccer teams faced Science & Arts of Okla. on Saturday in Chickasha, but only one came away with a win. The women defeated the Lady Drovers 1-0 while the men fell 0-3 in conference play.

Camille Malkiewicz scored the lone goal of the match to propel the ladies to 10-5 overall and 7-1 in the Sooner Athletic Conference. Malkiewicz scored unassisted in the 47th minute of play. It was her second of the year.

Although the ladies were outshot 13-11, Malkiewicz’s goal was the difference maker as USAO couldn't capitalize down the stretch.

Faith Thurman played in goal for the women and turned away five from USAO (10-4).

In the men’s game, USAO (13-1) came out strong and took control of the match early. The Drovers scored quickly in the second minute and then scored two more in the second half in the 67th and 70th minutes en route to the win.

JBU (10-6-1, 4-3-1) was outshot 31-6 with only three shots on goal to 12 from USAO.

Ryan Helmer collected nine saves for the Golden Eagles.

Both JBU teams will return to play at home on Tuesday when they face conference foe Oklahoma Christian. The women kickoff at 1 p.m. and the men play at 3.
