Kansas native inks with men's soccer

Siloam Springs, Ark. (April 14, 2009) - Austin McCullough, a 6-2, 165 lb. midfielder from Elyria Christian High School in McPherson, Kan., has signed a national letter of intent to play men’s soccer for JBU next fall.

“I am excited to add yet another strong student-athlete to next year’s team,” said JBU head men’s soccer coach John Miglarese. “Austin is an excellent student and will be a perfect fit for JBU.”

McCullough, who is a member of the Kansas Olympic Development Program for men’s soccer, scored 13 goals and tallied 10 assists during his senior campaign at Elyria Christian. And throughout the course of his high school career, he’s registered 39 goals and made 29 assists total.

Equally talented in the classroom, McCullough is currently ranked first in his class with a 3.86 grade point average and is also a member of the National Honor Society.

McCullough, who plans on majoring in sports medicine/physical therapy, will also be in the Honors Program at JBU.
