Several basketball players earn national honors


Siloam Springs, Ark. (March 30, 2009) - Three John Brown University basketball players have received recognition from the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) for their hard work both on and off the court this season. Junior Davaughn Jackson has been named to the NAIA’s Honorable Mention All-America Team and junior Amber Vogts and senior Jarrett McGriff have both been named Daktronics NAIA Scholar Athletes.
Jackson earned First Team All-Sooner Athletic Conference (SAC) honors this past season after leading JBU in scoring with 14.67 points per game and 7.58 rebounds per game, while McGriff and Vogts, who major in digital media and graphic design respectively, have both maintained a 3.5 grade point average as upperclassmen.
