Taylor named finalists for NAIA WBCA State Farm Coaches’ All-America Basketball Team

Siloam Springs, Ark. (March 10, 2009) - John Brown University’s Ashley Taylor, a 5-10 sophomore from Bergman, Ark., has been included in the 28 member list of finalists for the 2009 State Farm Coaches’ All-America Basketball Team for the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA). This past season, she led JBU in scoring and rebounding with 16.03 points per game and 7.07 rebounds per game.

The Women’s Basketball Coaches Association (WBCA), in cooperation with State Farm, announced the finalists early Tuesday. The 28 finalists, who are voted upon by WBCA member coaches in each of the six WBCA geographical regions, are now in the running for selection to the 10-member State Farm Coaches’ All-America Basketball Team. The Pink Zone initiative is a unified effort for the WBCA’s nation of coaches to assist in raising breast cancer awareness on the court, across campuses, in communities and beyond.

The 2009 State Farm Coaches’ All-America Basketball Team for NAIA will be announced at the NAIA Championship Banquet on March 17, 2009, at 6:30 p.m. CT in the Carl Perkins Civic Center in Jackson, Tenn.
