JBU Volleyball Digs Pink

Siloam Springs, Ark. (October 16, 2008) - In an attempt to raise Breast Cancer Awareness among the community, the John Brown University women’s volleyball team is hosting a “Dig Pink” event in their home match against Mid America Christian (Okla.) tonight at 7 p.m.

To show their support, the team will be wearing pink jerseys and will also be collecting donations to help in the fight against breast cancer.

JBU volleyball, in conjunction with the Side Out Foundation, is a part of a nationwide effort by over 10,000 high school teams and colleges that have been invited to participate in this event during Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

Each year, more than 211,000 American women and 1,700 men learn they have the disease. The Side Out Foundation’s “Dig Pink” initiative is a global, unified effort whose goal is to enable women and men affected with this dreaded disease to regain control of their lives and live it to the fullest.
