Volleyball Falls to Lubbock Christian

Siloam Springs, Ark. (September 28, 2007) - John Brown University’s volleyball team faced a tough opponent in Lubbock Christian (Texas) at home on Friday night. Although JBU fought hard, Lubbock Christian was able to walk away with the 3-1 (30-22, 21-30, 30-26, 30-28) win. In the opening game, JBU fell behind early and was unable to overcome the deficit. But John Brown would turn things around in the second game jumping ahead and never looking behind to claim the game two win. The third and fourth game saw both teams exchanging leads throughout the game, but it was Lubbock Christian that was able hold on late for the victory. Junior Aubrey Junker had a notable performance leading the team with 13 kills to go along with 15 digs. Britney Kerns and Alyssa Hanson had 23 and 21 assists respectively. Shannon Proctor controlled the defense with 29 digs and three service aces. And Amber Wilson added five blocks. Up next, John Brown (6-10, 1-1) faces Wayland Baptist on Saturday at 1 p.m.
