Women's Soccer Signs Kidd

Siloam Springs, Ark. (January 29, 2007) - Local high school soccer standout, Sarah Kidd, has signed a letter of intent to play women’s soccer at John Brown University in the fall.

Kidd, a 5-6 forward/midfielder from Siloam Springs, Ark. helped lead head coach Jason Bowen and the Siloam Springs High School Lady Panthers to a 34-11-5 overall record including a 17-1-3 mark versus AAAAA West Conference competition, resulting in AAAAA West Conference Championships in 2005 and 2006 and a 2nd place finish in 2004. Her team also qualified for the Arkansas State Soccer Tournament each of the last three seasons, advancing to the quarterfinals in 2005 and 2006. The three time team co-captain has been a prolific scorer in her 50 games as a Lady Panther, tallying 260 total points on 77 goals and 29 assists, each a career record at Siloam Springs High School. Kidd scored 10 of her career goals in the seven state tournament matches in which she has played.

Kidd, who has been playing soccer since age 5, has played Club Soccer since 6th grade. For the past three seasons she has played for the Ingram Futbol Club U18 Girls, coached by Max Harbereder. Ingram FC has won the Arkansas State Cup Championship the past 2 seasons and is ranked 1st in Arkansas and 55th nationally by “Soccer In College”. During the 2006 fall season, Kidd led Ingram FC team in number of goals scored. She has also been a member of the Arkansas Olympic Development Team.

A true student-athlete, Kidd has been successful in the classroom as well as on the soccer pitch. Sarah is president of the Beta Club and a two year National Honor Society member. She is also active in FCA, Higher Ground youth program at her church, volunteers as a Big Sister and tutors a 3rd grader at Southside Elementary School.

“I’m very excited,” said Kidd, “and I just hope I can use my ability to help the team.”

Sarah, the daughter of Tim and Sandy Kidd, plans to major in Health Sciences at John Brown University.
