John Brown Soccer Signs Four More

Siloam Springs, Ark. (April 17, 2006) - The John Brown Golden Eagles have signed four more men’s soccer players for the 2006 season. Jerry Carcamo of Springdale, Ark.; Carlos Mojica of Santa Cruz, Bolivia; Nick Robbins of Pampa, Texas; and Mikey Roberts of St. John’s, Antigua, will be joining the team this fall.

Carcamo, a 2004 graduate of Springdale High School, is a 5-9 forward/midfielder. He is transferring from Bethany College (Kan.), where he was an all-conference and all-region player in 2004. He was a three-time all-state performer at Springdale High.

Mojica is a 5-7 forward/midfielder. John Brown head coach Bob Gustavson said, “Carlos is a very technical player with excellent ball control. His experience at the Taiuichi Soccer Academy has prepared him well for competitive soccer at the college level.”

Robbins, a two-time all-district performer for Pampa High, is a 5-9 forward/midfielder. “Nick is a great person who has excelled in both academics and athletics,” Gustavson said. “He is a talented athlete who possesses excellent quickness and very good ball skills, and should be a perfect fit for us. We're excited that Nick has chosen to play his college soccer at JBU, and I look forward to working with him this fall.”

Roberts is a 6-0 forward transferring from Iowa Wesleyan. He will join fellow Antiguans Theo Browne, Akeem Grant, and Terry Andrew on the John Brown roster. Roberts and Grant were teammates at Iowa Wesleyan. Roberts played for the under-15, under-17, and under-20 national teams in Antigua.
