JBU Men’s Soccer Signs Goalkeeper

Siloam Springs, Ark. (April 27, 2005) - Spencer Watson of Harrison, Arkansas has signed a letter of intent to play soccer at John Brown University. Watson, a 6’3” goalkeeper for the Harrison Goblins, has been named to the Arkansas All-State team every year of his high school career. He was named the NSCAA/Adidas State Player of the Year and the Gatorade State Player of the Year among his many honors.

“Spencer has proven himself to be one of the best players to come out of the state of Arkansas and he will be the first four time all-state goalkeeper,” commented JBU Soccer Coach Bob Gustavson. “His size and athletic ability will be a great asset to him in the college game. I am really excited about having him in our program, and am looking forward to working with him this year. We’re expecting him to make an immediate impact.”

Spencer is the son of Tracy Watson and Pamela Mathis.
