JBU Women Lose Second Straight

Siloam Springs, Ark. (December 2, 2004) - The Golden Eagles traveled to Batesville, Arkansas to face the Lyon College Pipers Wednesday night. The Pipers were able to pull away with the 63-75 win, handing JBU their second loss of the week and moving them to a 5-2 record for the season.

Turnovers were the deciding factor in the game. JBU turned the ball over 25 times, allowing Lyon 26 points off the turnovers. JBU was only able to get 14 points off the Pipers’ 18 turnovers.

Sophomore Nancy Pierre led the scoring for JBU with 14. Sophomore Ashley Wettengel and junior Kendra McCormick both contributed 12 points. Pierre also led rebounding for the team with 7, with McCormick close behind with 6.

The Golden Eagles will try to get back in the win column next Thursday night, December 9th, when they face Bacone College. The game will be played in Siloam Springs at 6:00 p.m.
