JBU ties win record at 32

Siloam Springs, Ark. (November 4, 2004) - The Golden Eagles celebrated Senior’s night with a win over Southern Nazarene in five games (30-20, 30-16, 29-31, 22-30, 15-11). The team honored four seniors before the match, Meghann Wharton (Friendswood, TX), Helen Gross (Bartlesville, OK), Kim Peabody (Enid, OK), and manager Mel Borkert (Colorado Springs, CO). The Golden Eagles also tied the All-Time Wins record of 32 set in 2002. Tonight’s win over Southern Nazarene was an encouraging victory. Southern Nazarene is always a touch competitor. The Golden Eagles dominated the first two games with outstanding offense and serving; however, Southern Nazarene came back to win games three and four. The fifth game was competitive from start to finish, but the Golden Eagles were able to regain the momentum to win the match. The team had 63 kills, 12 aces, 52 assists, 6 blocks, and 83 digs.
